The idea of new attributes and then fluctuating attributes is great. The in-game coaching is generally good, just needs a little tweaking. In Head Coach, most of the game is hopeless. The draft classes are hopeless and so is the progression. If you were to play a franchise for 10-20 years in Madden, almost everyone of value would be 84-87 overall because everything just seems to average out. For all its shorcomings, though, it does miss one problem from all the Madden games: the sudden mediocritizing of talent in the NFL.
I don't think anybody complained about the Madden interface so much as the game itself. Maybe I could find a game behind the interface if they didn't make it so hard to find peoples' attributes.
